How Credits Work
Understanding Selify AI's credit-based billing system
How Credits Work
Selify AI uses a credit-based billing system that gives you precise control over spending. Every AI operation — from virtual try-ons to product listing generation — consumes a specific number of credits.
Credit Units
Credits are measured in micro-units for precision:
- 100,000 micro-units = $1.00 USD
- Credits are purchased in dollar amounts and converted to micro-units automatically
- Your dashboard always shows both the micro-unit balance and the equivalent dollar value
This micro-unit system ensures you only pay for exactly what you use, down to fractions of a cent.
What Operations Cost
Each AI operation has a fixed credit cost:
| Operation | Cost (micro-units) | Cost (USD) |
|---|---|---|
| Virtual try-on | 20,000 | $0.20 |
| Product listing generation | 5,000 | $0.05 |
| Background removal | 2,000 | $0.02 |
| AI customer support message | 500 | $0.005 |
| Smart pricing analysis (per product) | 1,000 | $0.01 |
Costs are deducted before each operation runs. If your balance is insufficient, the operation will not execute and you’ll receive a notification to add credits.
Adding Credits
There are two ways to maintain your credit balance:
Subscription plans — Each tier includes a monthly credit allocation. See Subscription Tiers for details.
Pay-as-you-go top-ups — Purchase additional credits at any time from Settings > Billing > Add Credits. Top-up credits are charged at the standard rate of 100,000 micro-units per $1.00.
Credit Policies
- Credits never expire — Whether included in your subscription or purchased as top-ups, your credits remain in your account indefinitely.
- No rollover limits — Unused subscription credits carry over to the next billing cycle without caps.
- Billing is pre-paid — Credits are deducted before AI operations execute, never after. This means you’ll never receive an unexpected bill.
- Refund policy — If an AI operation fails due to a system error (not user error), credits are automatically refunded to your balance.
Monitoring Usage
Track your credit consumption in Settings > Billing:
- Current balance — Your available credits in micro-units and USD
- Usage history — Breakdown of credit consumption by operation type, date, and AI worker
- Burn rate — Average daily and monthly credit usage to help you plan top-ups
- Alerts — Set low-balance thresholds to receive email notifications before you run out
Team Billing
For workspaces with multiple team members:
- All team members share the workspace credit pool
- Only workspace Admins can purchase credits or modify billing settings
- Usage reports can be filtered by team member to track individual consumption
